The story
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective came out in 1994. In one scene Ace walks into a club where Cannibal Corpse is playing Hammer Smashed Face. Jim Carrey was a fan and asked for the band himself.
The clip above is the extended scene released by Jim Carrey’s channel. Ace ends up on stage with Chris Barnes, the band’s singer back then. Carrey headbangs like a pro.
Hammer Smashed Face is from Tomb of the Mutilated, released in 1992. The movie cameo made it one of the most famous death metal songs ever. A lot of kids heard death metal for the first time because of Ace Ventura.
