Here is the Morbid Angel music video for God of Emptiness.
About Covenant
God of Emptiness is from Covenant, released in 1993. It was a big deal at the time. Covenant came out through Giant Records in the US, which put a death metal band on a major label. The video even got some MTV play on Headbangers Ball.
The lineup was David Vincent on bass and vocals, Trey Azagthoth on guitar, and Pete Sandoval on drums. Just three guys, and they sounded huge.
Most of Covenant is blasting speed. God of Emptiness is the opposite. It is slow, heavy, and crushing. Vincent’s low growl and the whispered parts make it stand out. It is still one of the band’s most played songs live.
