About the album
Cannibal Corpse formed in Buffalo, New York in 1988. Butchered at Birth was their second album. Chris Barnes was on vocals, and Scott Burns produced it at Morrisound Recording in Tampa.
Comic artist Vince Locke painted the cover. He kept doing the band’s artwork for years after, including Tomb of the Mutilated. The art was graphic enough that a lot of stores would only carry the album with a censored cover.
