About the movie
Star Wars opened in U.S. theaters in May 1977. George Lucas wrote and directed it. It reached Japan in the summer of 1978, about a year later.
Posters made for overseas releases often used different art from the U.S. one-sheet. That’s a big part of why collectors look for them.
