Updated Nov. 3, 2026, with manufacturer videos. We will add new freebies as they are announced.
Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, Nov. 27, and plugin developers are already lining up Black Friday free VST plugins for producers, guitarists and home studio owners. This roundup covers every free audio plugin confirmed so far, the freebies you get with a purchase, and the Black Friday and Christmas giveaways that come back every year.
Free VST Plugins You Can Claim for Black Friday 2026
AIR Music Tech Vocal Distortion
AIR Vocal Distortion goes free from Nov. 27 to Dec. 6, 2026. It handles everything from light vintage saturation to heavy overdrive on vocals. It comes in VST2, VST3 and AAX for Mac and Windows, AU on Mac, and the MPC standalone version is included. Pre-registration is open now, and AIR emails the claim details when the offer starts. Sign up on the AIR Music Tech Black Friday page.
Pulsar Audio DigiTape
DigiTape is free right now. Instead of modeling a real tape machine, it recreates the early tape emulation plugins heard on a lot of 2000s mixes. It runs two algorithms, stays light on CPU and works in VST2, VST3, AU and AAX on Mac and Windows. Answer a four-question survey and you get a perpetual license. You will need an iLok account. Download it from Pulsar Audio.
Audio Spices Mystery Spice
Audio Spices is giving away a brand new plugin on Black Friday, but it has not said what the plugin does yet. Reserve a copy with your email by Nov. 26. The plugin gets revealed and released on Nov. 27. Sign up at Audio Spices.
Scaler Detector
Scaler Detector 1.2 is now free from Scaler Music, down from . Feed it audio or MIDI and it tells you the key, scale and chords, which makes it handy for figuring out a loop or a song you want to learn. It runs as a VST, VST3, AU or AAX plugin or as a standalone app on Mac and Windows. Plugin Boutique also lists it free through Dec. 7, 2026.

Black Friday Freebies Expected Soon
These companies give away a plugin every Black Friday. Neither has announced its 2026 offer yet.
Waves
Waves releases a new free plugin every Black Friday. Recent picks were Lil Tube in 2022, Silk Vocal in 2023, IDX Intelligent Dynamics in 2024 and Magma StressBox in 2025. Last year’s sign-up page went up on Nov. 7. Copies are often limited and the claim window is short, so sign up as soon as Waves posts the page.
Universal Audio
In 2025, Universal Audio let anyone pick one of 10 UAD plugins for free between Black Friday and Cyber Monday with the code BFPICK1FREE. The list included the 1176, the LA-2A and a Pultec EQ. Last year’s offer was announced on Black Friday itself, so check Universal Audio on Nov. 27.
Christmas Free Plugin Giveaways to Watch
Holiday plugin giveaways usually start in early December. None are confirmed for 2026 yet, but these companies have a track record.
Soundtoys
Soundtoys has given away at least one plugin in November or December every year since 2022. In 2025 it ran 12 Days of Soundtoys: six plugins, each free for 48 hours, from Dec. 8 to Dec. 19, starting with Little PrimalTap. No purchase was required and the licenses were permanent. Keep an eye on Soundtoys in early December.
Universal Audio Holiday Freebie
After Black Friday 2025, UA ran a second giveaway through Dec. 31 with the code HOLIDAYFREEBIE and the same list of 10 plugins. If it returns this year, you can claim one plugin on Black Friday and another at Christmas.
Synchro Arts
Synchro Arts gave away four paid plugins from Dec. 4 to Dec. 15, 2025. Claiming them took a free LANDR account. Check the Synchro Arts giveaways page in December.
Baby Audio
Baby Audio released a free plugin around the holidays every year from 2021 to 2024, including Magic Dice and Pitch Drift, then skipped 2025. A 2026 freebie from Baby Audio is possible but not a sure thing.
How to Grab Free Plugins Before They Disappear
- Set up accounts early. Create your Waves, Universal Audio, Plugin Boutique and iLok accounts before Nov. 27 so you are not stuck on a login page during a 48-hour window.
- Pre-register when you can. AIR and Audio Spices take sign-ups now, and Waves usually opens its list weeks ahead.
- Claim right away. Many giveaways cap the number of copies or run for only a day or two.
- Check your formats. Make sure the plugin comes in VST3, AU or AAX for your DAW before you install it.
